Yes. I like Slipknot a lot.
They were a huge part and “influence” on me when I was younger. They honestly gave me a lot of confidence as a kid and I didn’t have much. I made a lot of friends in high school because of our shared Slipknot love. But I still openly enjoy Slipknot and other nu metal bands. Now, I can see how ridiculous it is and how lame some bands can be but I love how honest and raw nu metal can be. Its healthy to express anger.
I was talking with my friend Garret once and he described nu metal as ‘an honest expression of anger and frustration’ or something along those lines. And I agree.
Also, who still uses the word hipster in a negative connotation? are u a dad?
i like it. i mean, its slipknot being slipknot. it might be my least favorite album though, and that may just be because im no longer in high school rather than the music actually being bad. i really like the opening two songs and the devil n i and custer. but a lot songs just blend together, which is what i felt happened with all hope is gone. like no one remembers songs like butcher’s hook or anything. just unnecessary songs. but i overall dig it. slipknot always tends to put out always really polished, catchy metal.
